Sleep Modes of CC3200 Wifi Module

CC3200 wifi module can open low power mode. If there is no data communication between network and uart port in 10s to 240s under normal condition, CC3200 wifi module will move to low power mode. Users can choose different sleep modes.

Ultra-low Power WIFI Module

Mode 0: Active Mode

In Active mode, the system running clock is 80 Mhz. All peripherals of CC3200 wifi module are running properly.At this moment, CC3200 wifi module has the best performance.

 

Mode 1: Sleep Mode

In Sleep mode, the system running clock is still 80Mhz. CC3200 wifi module can be waken up through serial or network packets, and gpio port keeps output. After waken up, CC3200 wifi module keeps on running from the point that CC3200 wifi module came into Sleep mode. Wake-up response time of Sleep mode is shorter than that of Deepsleep mode.

 

Mode 2: Deepsleep Mode

CC3200 wifi module came into Deepsleep mode. The system running clock reduced to 40 Mhz. CC3200 wifi module can be waken up through serial or network packets, and gpio port keeps output.After waken up, CC3200 wifi module keeps on running from the point that CC3200 wifi module came into Deepsleep mode. Wake-up response time of Deepsleep mode is longer than that of Sleep mode. Power Deepsleep mode is 5mA lower than that of normal running.

 

Mode 3: Lpds Mode

CC3200 wifi module came into Lpds mode. Network part keeps running, and gpio port of CC3200 wifi module keeps high-impedance state. CC3200 wifi module can be waken up through serial or network packets.

 

Mode 4: Hibernate Mode

CC3200 wifi module came into Hibernate mode.Network and MCU are entering Hibernate mode, and gpio output keeps high-impedance state. CC3200 wifi module can be waken up only through serial data.After waken up, CC3200 wifi module restarts. Power consumption can achieve the uA level.
