Classification of Industrial 4G Routers

 Classification Of Industrial 4G Routers

Industrial 4G routers are of various types, and they can be divided into different types in different ways. In addition, the application of diverse Industrial 4G Routers are different from one to another. Industrial 4G Routers will be divided in different ways as follows so as to give some help to those who don’t know which one to purchase.

On property

In terms of property, Industrial 4G Routers can be divided into linear routers and non-linear routers.

The linear router can transmit smoothly in the light of bandwidth of transmission medium, with no interruption and delay, and its way of calculation is the same as linear backplane bandwidth of switch. The linear router is high-end router, with high port bandwidth and strong data transmission ability, and it can transmit data package in media rate.

The non-linear router is medium- and low-end router, but some new routers with broadband are also equipped with linear transmission function. The property of routers is mainly influenced by the property of CPU. If the CPU has relatively high property, 4G industrial router is more likely to be linear router with high-end property.

Generally, speed is not the measurement of routers, while the data capacity is a reference to measure the largest capacity of receiving and sending data of routers. When the backplane capacity of Industrial 4G Router is larger than 40Gbps, the router is high-end router; between 25Gbps~40Gbps, the router is medium-end router; and lower than 25Gbps, the router is low-end router. The standard of division is not absolute, and the specific parameters should be divided in accordance with the parameters of different plants.

On structure

In terms of structure, Industrial 4G Router can be divided into modularized router and non-modularized router.

Modularized routers generally only have basic function of route, and its type of interface and some expanded function should be configurated according to the actual demand of users. Users can choose corresponding module according to the type of network to access. Different module can provide different ability to connect and manage. For instance, most modularized routers allow uses to select network interface, VPN, firewall, etc., and most of these routers are modularized routers.

Non-modularized routers are basically low-end routers used in private situation. They are mainly used by family or small company within ISP, and they support SLIP, PPP, PPYP and IPSec virtual private network protocols. If these protocols run on port such as ADSL to increase the available bandwidth of family, it will increase the burden on router accessed. In the future, the port of this kind of router will run multiple protocol, whilst it needs to avoid telephone exchange network.

On function

Industrial 4G Routers can be divided into universal router and specialized router in the light of functions. Common private routers are universal routers, that is, they can meet the ordinary demand for use in general situation, with no extra special demand for the scene of application.

As for specialized routers, they can fulfill certain function to make specific optimization to routing interface and hardware. Taking foreign trade specialized routers as an example, they can change local IP to access some foreign transaction website quickly, which is quite convenient.

On interface

Industrial 4G Routers support SDH STM-1 interface, SDH STM-4 interface and SDH STM-4 interface. At present, SDH STM-64 interfaces are accessible to high-end Industrial 4G Router, while others are inferior. STM-1 has optical interface and electrical interface. STM-1 electrical interface is applicable to office where the interference signal is weak, while STM-4, STM-16, STM-64 all employs optical interface.

On object

Industrial 4G Routers can be divided into core router (core-level), distributed router (company-level), and access router (family-level) in the light of object of use.

Core router is to send package to computer in the network (not among networks), and it is the key devices to connect Internet with routers in other levels. It is commonly used by communication operator or ISP. Core router features large capacity and high demand for speed and reliability. In order to gain high reliability, network system tends to use traditional redundant technology such as hot backup, double power supplies and double data link, etc. thus ensuring the reliability of backbone routers.

Distributed router can be applied to connect multiple logically distributed network. Because it has to connect many objects, its system is simple with small data flow. Apart from linking different network, it also needs to choose a smooth and short way to improve the speed of communication, relieve the burden of communication network, save the resources of the system and promote the flexibility, so as to play the effect of network system to the maximum extent.

Access routers are mainly used to connect network in small LAN, commonly employed by families, small companies, or Internet bar where areas are small and the network environment is simple.
